Product Introduction
Lysozyme is a glycoside hydrolase enzyme extracted from fresh egg white through microfiltration, ultrafiltration, and vacuum freeze-drying. It is a single polypeptide chain composed of 129 amino acid residues (18 amino acid types), with a molecular weight of approximately 14,000 Da. Lysozyme works by breaking down the peptidoglycan cell wall of Gram-positive bacteria, achieving a natural bacteriolytic and antibacterial effect, while remaining safe for human cells, which lack a cell wall.
As a China-based lysozyme manufacturer, supplier, and exporter, we produce both food-grade and pharmaceutical-grade lysozyme, with customizable enzyme activity to meet different formulation needs. We supply consistently to food, dairy, pharmaceutical, and personal care customers worldwide.

Key Functions
- Broad-spectrum antibacterial activity: Breaks down the cell walls of Gram-positive bacteria such as Bacillus subtilis and Deinococcus radiodurans, and shows some activity against Gram-negative bacteria including E. coli, Proteus vulgaris, and Vibrio parahaemolyticus
- Naturally derived and safe: A non-specific immune factor found in the human body, with no adverse effect on human cells
- Multi-functional bioactivity: Antibacterial, antiviral, hemostatic, anti-inflammatory, and tissue-repair-promoting properties
Applications
- Food Preservation: Widely used as a natural preservative in seafood, meat products, cakes, sake, cooking wine, and beverages
- Dairy Processing: Added to fresh milk and milk powder to inhibit intestinal spoilage bacteria and promote the growth of Bifidobacteria; commonly used in infant formula and functional foods
- Pharmaceutical Industry: Used clinically to support treatment of chronic rhinitis, acute and chronic pharyngitis/laryngitis, oral ulcers, chickenpox, shingles, and flat warts; can be combined with antibacterial drugs for enhanced treatment of bacterial and viral infections
- Personal Care & Cosmetics: Added to facial masks and skincare products for antibacterial preservation and anti-inflammatory benefits; added to toothpaste to relieve gum swelling and pain
- Bioengineering: A key tool enzyme in genetic and cell engineering, used to break down bacterial cell walls in protoplast preparation

FAQ
Q1: What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ) for lysozyme?
Our standard minimum order quantity for lysozyme is negotiable based on the specification and grade you require. Contact us with your target activity level and application to get a tailored MOQ and quote.
Q2: What enzyme activity specifications do you offer?
We supply lysozyme with customizable activity ranging from 500,000 U/g to 20,000 U/mg, allowing us to match the exact potency needed for food preservation, dairy processing, pharmaceutical, or cosmetic formulations.
Q3: Is your lysozyme food grade or pharmaceutical grade?
We offer both food-grade and pharmaceutical-grade lysozyme, produced under quality control systems compliant with China’s national food-grade enzyme preparation safety standard (GB 1886.174-2016).
Q4: What is lysozyme made from, and is it safe for consumption?
Lysozyme is naturally extracted from fresh egg white through microfiltration, ultrafiltration, and vacuum freeze-drying. It is a naturally occurring immune factor found in the human body and has no adverse effect on human cells, making it safe for use in food, dairy, and personal care applications.
Q5: What industries and products commonly use lysozyme?
Lysozyme is widely used across food preservation (seafood, meat, cakes, sake, beverages), dairy processing (milk, infant formula), pharmaceuticals (throat and oral care treatments), personal care (skincare, toothpaste), and bioengineering (protoplast preparation).
Q6: Can you supply lysozyme in bulk for export, and what packaging is available?
Yes, as a China-based manufacturer, supplier, and exporter, we regularly supply lysozyme in bulk to overseas customers. Packaging is customizable, with options including aluminum foil bags and fiber drums, tailored to your order volume and shipping requirements.
